What is Membership at Zion?
Everyone is welcome to attend church, attend Zion’s school, participate in small groups, volunteer, and attend events without being a member. Membership means taking active responsibility for what God is doing through the ministry of Zion Lutheran Church.
Active members of Zion Lutheran Church exhibit these habits:
• Regular attendance in worship (On-Line or in person) at Zion.
• Lift Zion’s Pastor and leadership in prayer for God’s direction and grace
• Financially support Zion’s ministries in regular and sacrificial giving
• Loyally serve Zion’s congregation and community
Three levels of membership
Baptized Members:
Baptism in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit is a requirement to be a member at Zion Lutheran Church. If you have been baptized somewhere else in the name of the trinity, then your baptism is recognized. If you have not been baptized, we can do that! Zion Baptized people of all ages.
Confirmed Members:
Confirmation is a process of learning about faith in Jesus and then publicly professing your faith. This may be done in a confirmation class for youth or new member class for adults.
Voting Members:
Voting members must be baptized, confirmed, and over 18 years old. Voting members may vote in annual meetings, approving budgets, choosing leaders, and calling staff members. Only Voting Members may hold an elected office of Zion Lutheran church and schools.
Special Note:
Active Church Members are eligible to receive Tuition Discounts. To be eligible, you must meet two criteria: attend church at least twice a month, and be a regular financial contributor (This is defined by consistency, not by amount).
